Welcome to Celestis. This Privacy Policy explains how Celestis ("Celestis," "we," "us," or "our") handles your information when you use our mobile app (our "platform"), and this policy applies to you as our user.
We act as the data controller for any personal information we process through our platform, so please read this carefully. By using Celestis, you're agreeing to how we handle your information as described here. If you're not comfortable with these terms, please do not use our platform.
1. Policy Updates
We update this policy as needed. When we do, we change the effective date at the top of the page. For significant changes, we notify you by email or in-app. Your continued use of Celestis after updates means you accept the revised policy.
2. What Information We Collect and How We Use It
Information You Give Us Directly
- Contact details. Your name and email, used to set up your account and stay in touch.
- Account information. Profile details and your sign-in provider identifier (Apple or Google). We do not receive your Apple or Google account credentials directly — those are managed through the app store.
- Birth data. Birth date, birth time, and birth location (city, latitude/longitude). This is the core input powering your sun, moon, and rising sign readings and your compatibility insights. Birth time is required for the rising sign; without it, that reading is unavailable.
- Connections. When you add another person as a connection (whether or not they use Celestis), you provide their name and birth data so the app can compute compatibility. You are responsible for having permission from anyone whose birth data you enter.
- Subscription information. If you subscribe, payment is handled exclusively by Apple or Google. We receive only your subscription status, tier, and purchase history. We do not receive or store payment card details, billing address, or other financial information.
Information We Collect Automatically
- Device data. Device type, operating system, unique identifiers, IP address.
- Location data. General location estimated from your IP address (separate from the birth location you enter manually).
- Usage data. Which readings you view, in-app interactions, timestamps, app version, and crash logs. Used strictly to operate and improve the app.
What We Do Not Collect
Celestis does not collect photos, face data, biometric data, contacts, microphone, or camera input.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information with certain third parties for legitimate purposes as outlined in this policy.
- Service providers. Companies that help us operate Celestis — including hosting, authentication, analytics, cloud storage, security, customer support, and technology deployment partners.
- AI-powered readings. To generate your readings, we share specific inputs with a third-party AI provider: the questions you ask, your birth date, time, and location and the chart we derive from them, your personality answers, and the name and birth details of any connection you add. We do not share your email address or precise location coordinates.
- We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and Tracking
The mobile app does not use web cookies. If a web property is ever added, only strictly necessary cookies will be used.
5. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to access, port, correct, delete, restrict processing of, object to the processing of, and withdraw consent for your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@celestis.app.
6. Children's Privacy
Celestis isn't designed for children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our mobile application and services ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Celestis (distributed on the App Store as "Celestis: Astrology and Cosmic Guidance") is a personal astrology companion that provides daily sun, moon, and rising sign readings; compatibility insights between you and the connections you add; and related cosmic content.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Accounts are created via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
4. User Content and Conduct
You provide birth data for yourself and any connections you add. You are responsible for having permission from anyone whose birth data you enter. By submitting this information, you grant Celestis a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process it solely to deliver the Service. You retain all ownership of your content.
5. Nature of Readings — Entertainment Only
Celestis is provided for entertainment purposes only. It is not professional advice and must not be relied on for medical, legal, financial, psychological, or relationship decisions. Astrological readings are interpretive and are not predictions of events.
6. Third-Party Services
We use third-party providers for authentication, hosting, and similar functions. Celestis is not responsible for third-party services or content outside our platform.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
The Service, including all software, designs, logos, and content (excluding user content), is owned by Celestis and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8. Subscriptions and Payments
Celestis may offer a premium subscription. The premium tier is Celestis Pro, offered as a monthly subscription at $5.99/month and an annual subscription at $49.99/year. No free trial is currently offered. Prices shown in the app at the time of purchase are authoritative and may vary by region or store-set local pricing. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase. All payments are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play; we never receive your payment details. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your app store account settings. For refunds, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play support directly.
9. Apple App Store and Google Play Terms
These Terms are between you and Celestis only, not with Apple or Google, and Celestis — not the platform — is solely responsible for the app and its content. Celestis is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app; the platform you downloaded the app from has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support. The platform is not responsible for claims relating to the app or your use of it; the platform is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them.
10. Scope of License
The license granted to you for the app is non-transferable and is limited to using the app on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions; where you obtained the app from Google Play, your license is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service. The app may not be distributed or made available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.
11. Warranty
Celestis is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app. Where you obtained the app from Google Play, any warranty for the app remains the responsibility of Celestis, not Google.
12. Intellectual Property Claims
In the event of any third-party claim that the app, or your possession and use of the app, infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Celestis — not Apple or Google — is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
13. Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
14. Third-Party Terms
You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the app — for example, your wireless data service plan, whose terms must not be violated by your use of the app.
15. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time through the app or by contacting us at support@celestis.app. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid.
16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Celestis is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Celestis's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is capped at the greater of the amount you paid Celestis in the twelve months before the claim or USD 50.
17. Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden, with the Stockholm District Court (Stockholms tingsrätt) as the court of first instance. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence.
